If you're experiencing unusual behaviour in the platform we might ask you to clear your cache and perform a hard refresh as a first step to seeing if this clears the issue. It can also be worth testing if you experience the issue in an incognito window. If you don't, this implies you may have a plugin installed in your browser that is causing the issue.

Another test you can do is to test if you can replicate the issue on a different device or network. Sometimes work devices and work networks can prevent GivePanel from working correctly due to firewalls. If this is the case, we have some details you can share with IT to resolve this.

Clearing your cache and performing a hard reset varies depending on your computer and the browser you are in. Because GivePanel performs most efficiently in Google Chrome we highly recommend using Chrome while on the GivePanel platform. Take a look at the guide below to see how you can clear your cache in Google Chrome.

Clearing your Cache in Google Chrome:

  1. Sign out of GivePanel

  2. Click Control + Shift + Delete on a Windows device and Command + Shift + Delete on a Mac

Performing a Hard Refresh in Google Chrome:

  1. Click Control + F5 on a Windows device. Click Command + Shift + R on a Mac.

Simply put, your cache is where your browser stores data downloaded from websites you visit.

What is a hard refresh?

A hard refresh clears your browser cache for that specific page. This forces it to load the most recent version of that page.
