Tracking Custom Fundraisers (Formerly 1-Click) Using Marketing Sources

Written by Harry Gardner

Marketing Sources allow you to view where a supporter has signed up and created their fundraiser. To set up tracking for your custom Facebook fundraiser (formerly 1-Click), here are the steps:

  1. Add ''?source='' followed by a code of your choice e.g. ''emailcampaign'', to the end of the Custom Facebook fundraiser URL so it looks something like this: https://givepanel.me/fb/9Wb000?source=emailcampaign or https://givepanel.me/fb/9Wb000?source=facebookgroup

  2. Paste the updated short URL into your marketing

  3. To see which fundraiser was created with what URL, click ''Export to CSV'' from the fundraiser's section. You will see a new column titled ''Marketing Source'' which will list all the marketing sources that have been triggered. Alternatively you can export a fundraiser report from the report builder and append the ''marketing source'' column.

The marketing source code can also be added to the end of any DIY or Virtual campaign registration link, to allow you to track where your fundraisers have come from. Follow the same steps as above, but add “?source=” followed by a code of your choice (e.g. “emailcampaign”, “facebookgroup”) to the end of your campaign registration URL instead. This marketing source code will then be attributed to your fundraiser records and will be visible in the “marketing source’ column when you export your fundraiser data (not your registration data).

This would look like: https://givp.nl/register/L7ZLkjxA?source=emailcampaign or https://givp.nl/register/L7ZLkjxA?source=facebookgroup.
Please note, the “&” symbol isn’t supported in source codes. If you include it, the system will treat it as a separator and split your source code.

For example:

?source=email&facebook

would be recorded only as email.
