How to re-engage supporters from a completed campaign

Re-engaging participants from a completed campaign in a new campaign

Written by Charlotte Ulett

We know that your past participants are really valuable for re-engagement in new campaigns. That’s why in GivePanel you have the ability to set up emails to send to registrants up to 800 days after the campaign has finished - this means you can tell supporters about your new campaign and maximise those repeat registrations.

Example:

You had registrants for your Walk 100km in April 2025 campaign, the campaign has now ended. In February 2026 you launch your recruitment campaign for Walk 100km in April 2026 and want to re-engage your 2025 registrants. You can now go into your 2025 campaign email journeys and set up a new email to go to 2025 supporters telling them about the 2026 campaign.

Steps:

  1. From your dashboard navigate to the ‘Messaging’ drop down and click ‘Email Journeys’

  2. Find the Email Journey that was set up for your Campaign (DIY, Challenge or Lead)

  3. Click the pencil icon to edit

  4. Click ‘Add New Email’

  5. Choose either ‘Create Personal Email’ or ‘Create Branded Email’

  6. On your Trigger select ‘Scheduled’ and ‘After Campaign End Date’ - then include the number of days after Campaign End Date you want the email to go out

    1. e.g. If your campaign ended on the June 30th 2026 and you want to send the email on the 1st February 2027, this would be 216 Days After Campaign End Date

  7. You will get a preview in bold at the top of the trigger section telling you which day this email will be sent - you can then edit as you see fit

  8. You can create a series of re-engagement emails like this to go on a variety of days throughout your recruitment campaign

Please Note: This email will go to all supporters that match the triggers and conditions set on the email builder (whether from a lead, DIY or Challenge campaign email journey) and will not take into account any marketing opt-ins you have acquired from that supporter. Please ensure the re-engagement email journey you create is compliant with your own internal GDPR and marketing policies.
