Google Auto Address Complete makes it easier for supporters to enter their address on your GivePanel forms.
Once enabled, supporters can start typing the first line of their address and select their address from a list of suggested results.
Availability
Google Auto Address Complete is an optional feature and needs to be enabled in your GivePanel account by the GivePanel team.
If you'd like to use Google Auto Address Complete, please contact [email protected] and we'll confirm once it has been enabled for your account.
Enable Google Auto Address Complete on a form
Once the feature has been enabled in your account:
Go to Campaigns in the main navigation.
Select Forms.
Open the form you'd like to update.
Scroll to the Address field.
Select Google Auto Address Complete.
Click Save.
Once enabled, supporters will see the address lookup when completing the form.
What does the supporter see?
When the supporter reaches the address field, they'll be prompted to start typing the first line of their address, including their house name or number.
As they type, matching addresses will appear in a dropdown. The supporter can then select their address from the suggested results.
Address validation
To help reduce incomplete addresses, the address field also checks that the selected address includes a house number or house name.
If a supporter enters an address without a house number or house name, they'll see a validation message asking them to complete the address.
This helps improve the accuracy and completeness of supporter address data.
Which address lookup should I use?
Google Auto Address Complete can be used for supporters entering addresses internationally.
If your form only needs to collect UK addresses, you may also be able to use Postcode Lookup. This allows supporters to enter their postcode and select their address from a list.
