Postcode Lookup (powered by Postcoder) makes it easier for supporters to enter their address on your GivePanel forms. Supporters can enter their postcode and select their address from a list of matching results.
Please note: Postcode Lookup is currently available on GivePanel forms, but is not yet available on GivePanel Events forms. Postcode Lookup currently supports UK addresses only. It won't return addresses outside the UK. If your form needs to collect addresses from supporters worldwide, we recommend using Google Auto Address Complete instead, or allowing supporters to enter their address manually.
Enable Postcode Lookup
If Postcode Lookup is available in your GivePanel account, you can enable it when setting up your form.
Open the GivePanel form you want to edit.
Go to the Address field.
Select Postcode Lookup from the address lookup options.
Save your changes.
Once enabled, supporters will see the Postcode Lookup option when completing the form.
What does the supporter see?
When the supporter reaches the address field, they'll be prompted to Search postcode. They can then:
Enter their postcode.
Select Find address.
Select their address from the dropdown list.
Once an address is selected, the address information will be added to the form.
Supporter experience
1. Search postcode
The supporter enters their postcode into the Search postcode field.
2. Find address
They select Find address to search for addresses associated with that postcode.
3. Select an address
A dropdown will appear showing the available addresses. The supporter selects the correct address from the list.
Postcode Lookup isn't showing in my account
Postcode Lookup is being made available on a customer account basis.
If you don't see Postcode Lookup as an option when configuring the Address field, please contact GivePanel Support and we can check whether it's available for your account.
Testing Postcode Lookup: There is a limit on how frequently postcode searches can be made. Up to 10 searches can be made within a 5 minute period. If you're testing the form, please be aware that repeatedly searching for postcodes may temporarily trigger this limit.
