Pixel Setup Recommendations
You do not need a new Meta Pixel for setting up pixel tracking from GivePanel, so we recommend using your existing Meta Pixel. If you need to create a new one, that works too, but it’s always best for the charity to retain control over the pixel.
Shared Pixels
We don't recommend the use of shared pixels. If an agency has set up a pixel for you in their Meta account and shared it with your charity, be aware that the agency will retain control of that pixel. If you change agencies, you may need to start over with a new pixel.
Ownership and Control
We strongly advise charities to maintain full ownership and control of their Meta Pixel to avoid potential disruptions. Keeping control ensures continuity in tracking and reporting, and avoids complications if you switch agencies or partners in the future.
Privacy Policy
In all cases, even though there is no personally identifiable information involved with pixel tracking, we recommend that you keep your privacy policy up to date. This ensures transparency with your supporters, letting them know exactly how their data is being used.
