When managing email journeys in GivePanel, you may notice emails labeled as either "Sending" or "Sent". These labels provide insight into the status of each email within the journey. Here, we’ll break down what these labels mean, the logic behind them, and how to interpret them.
What Do "Sending" and "Sent" Mean?
The statuses for emails in GivePanel are determined by the triggers set in your email journey. These statuses indicate whether the email is actively being processed, has completed delivery, or is scheduled for future delivery.
Here’s a breakdown:
"Sending"
The "Sending" label appears when the trigger for the email is based on actions that continuously evaluate recipients, such as "X days after registration."
This means the system is actively processing and sending emails to new registrants who meet the criteria, and it will continue to do so as more registrants enter the journey.
"Sent"
The "Sent" label appears when the trigger is tied to a specific event date, and the trigger date has already passed. This indicates that all eligible recipients have received the email.
Example triggers that result in "Sent":
X days after the event start date
X days before the event end date (if the date has passed)
Scheduled
For triggers based on future dates, such as "X days before the event start date," the email is labeled as "Scheduled" until the trigger date is reached.
Summary
Emails marked as "Sending" are dynamically processed and sent based on triggers like "after registration."
Emails marked as "Sent" have completed delivery because the trigger date has passed.
Emails marked as "Scheduled" are queued for future delivery based on an upcoming trigger date.
These labels provide a clear overview of your email journey’s status and ensure you can track the progress of your communications effectively.
