If you want to send an email to participants in your virtual challenge or campaign who have registered but haven’t created a fundraiser yet, so you can invite them to create one, follow the steps below to set up the email and craft your message.

Step 1: Create an Email with the 'Not Matched to a Fundraiser' Trigger

In GivePanel, you can send emails to participants who haven’t created a fundraiser yet by using the 'Not matched to a fundraiser' condition. This condition ensures that your email is only sent to those participants whose registration hasn’t been matched to a fundraiser record —typically because the supporter hasn’t created a fundraising page.

Please note: A registration not being matched to a fundraiser doesn’t necessarily mean the participant hasn’t created one. It’s possible that the fundraiser exists but hasn’t been imported into GivePanel or matched to their registration. Please read on to ensure this trigger is as effective as possible.

Step 2: Ensure Your Matching Is Up-to-Date

To improve the accuracy of the 'Not matched to a fundraiser' trigger, it’s important to keep your matching up-to-date. Unmatched registrations refer to participants who haven’t created a fundraiser or whose fundraiser hasn’t been matched in GivePanel. You can manage this process and improve the accuracy of matching using our guide on matching fundraisers.

Step 3: Craft Your Email

When writing your email, we recommend keeping the tone open, as some participants may have created a fundraiser but because of the reasons listed above, haven't been matched to a registration so they would still receive an email triggered by ''if not matched''.

Here’s an example of how you can phrase it:

Subject Line: Ready to Create Your Fundraiser?

Email Body:
"Hi [First Name]! If you’re not ready to set up your fundraiser yet, that’s ok. However, I wanted to let you know that people who activate their fundraiser early are much more likely to finish the challenge. That’s because it keeps you committed.
And they raise the most money!
If you haven’t done so already, you can set it up using this link [1-Click].
Thanks for being part of this challenge, I think it’s going to be great!!
Signed"

Optional: Email Templates

Step 4: Send Your Email

After reviewing the email content and ensuring the 'Not matched to a fundraiser' trigger is applied correctly, you’re all set to send your email and encourage participants to create their fundraiser.
