How JustGiving fundraising page creation and email journeys work for Under-18s in GivePanel Events

Registrations, email journeys and fundraising for Under-18s in GivePanel Events

Written by Charlotte Ulett

In GivePanel Events we have two age restriction options on tickets, over 18 and under 18. By default, tickets marked as over 18 will allow supporters to create a JustGiving fundraiser and be enrolled into email journeys, whereas under 18 tickets will not create a JustGiving fundraiser or receive email journeys.

If you want Under-18s (for example 16 or 17 year old registrants) to still be able to create a JustGiving page and receive event emails you have a few options:

Option 1 - Create a catch all Adults Ticket

  1. Navigate to your event in GivePanel Events

  2. Click ‘Items’

  3. Click ‘Create Ticket’

  4. Click ‘Standard Ticket’

  5. On ‘Ticket Name’ label it ‘Adults (16+)’

  6. On ‘Age Restriction’ choose ‘Over 18 years old’

  7. You may then want to add in a mandatory date of birth field in your registration form so you are capturing ages of all registrants

Option 2 - Create a teens ticket

  1. As well as creating your 18+ Adults ticket you could add an additional ticket type called ‘Teens’

  2. Navigate to your event in GivePanel Events

  3. Click ‘Items’

  4. Click ‘Create Ticket’

  5. Click ‘Standard Ticket’

  6. On ‘Ticket Name’ label it ‘Teens (16-18)’

  7. On ‘Age Restriction’ choose ‘Over 18 years old’

  8. You can charge this at the same price as the adults ticket but it just allows you to see who are teens and who are adults

  9. You may then want to add in a mandatory date of birth field in your registration form so you are capturing ages of all registrants

  10. You may also want to add a mandatory radio button for supporters to confirm they are aged 16 or over and include similar wording in your terms and conditions
