Setting Up JustGiving Redirects for Campaign and Event Pages to Guide Supporters into Your GivePanel Event

Understand how to set up redirects so supporters who find your campaign or event in JustGiving are directed to your GivePanel Event registration flow.

When using GivePanel Events, supporters may discover your campaign in different ways within JustGiving. Without redirects in place, supporters can create a fundraising page directly in JustGiving without registering for your event. This can lead to gaps in registration data, reporting, and supporter communications.

To avoid this, there are two key places where redirects should be set up to guide supporters into your GivePanel Event registration flow.

Why this matters

Setting up these redirects ensures that:

  • All supporters go through your GivePanel Event registration flow

  • Registrations and fundraisers are correctly linked

  • Reporting and email journeys remain accurate

1. JustGiving Campaign Page (Start Fundraising button)

When you create a JustGiving Campaign, a public campaign page is generated. Within this page, supporters have the option to click Start Fundraising.

If a redirect is not in place, they will create a fundraising page directly in JustGiving without registering. Setting up a redirect ensures they are instead sent to your GivePanel event registration page.

2. JustGiving Event Page (found in JustGiving)

Supporters may also come across your JustGiving event directly (for example via search or JustGiving listings). If a redirect is not in place, they can create a fundraising page without purchasing a ticket or registering for your event.

If this is a charity owned event, a redirect can be set up to send supporters to your GivePanel event registration page instead, ensuring they complete registration before creating a fundraiser. Please note this isn’t possible for public events.

Setting up a redirect helps guide supporters to the correct journey, ensuring they register / purchase tickets too.

How these work together

Once both redirects are in place:

  1. Supporter lands on JustGiving (campaign or event)

  2. Clicks Start Fundraising

  3. Redirected to GivePanel event registration

  4. Completes registration or ticket purchase

  5. Fundraiser is created and linked correctly

Important note

If either redirect is not set up, supporters may still be able to create fundraising pages directly in JustGiving without registering. It’s recommended to have both redirects in place to ensure a consistent supporter journey.
