How To Inspect Your Console

Guidance On How To Inspect Your Console

If you're experiencing a problem with your account, we may ask you to inspect something called your console.

If you're experiencing a problem in your account, we might ask you to take a screenshot of your console as this helps our engineers with their investigations and can provide clues as to what might be causing your problem.

Instructions on how to do this are below:

On a Windows Operating System:

  1. When in your GivePanel account, please press the keyboard shortcut F12 which will open up your browser's console (this will open on the side of your screen).

    Alternatively, right-click on the page, and click "Inspect".

  2. Navigate to where you're experiencing the issue (e.g. if you're experiencing a white screen upon logging in to GivePanel, please log in so the white screen is showing in front of you).

  3. Next, you can perform a hard refresh.

  4. Finally, send a screenshot of anything that appears in your console after you have refreshed the account and the error/issue loads on the screen. It should look something like this:

On a Mac Operating System:

  1. When in your GivePanel account, press the keyboard shortcut fn+F12 which will open up your browser's console (this will open on the side of your screen).


    Alternatively, right-click on the page, and click "Inspect".

  2. Navigate to when you're experiencing the issue (e.g. if you're reporting a white screen upon logging in to GivePanel, please log in so the white screen is showing in front of you).

  3. Next, you can perform a hard refresh.

  4. Finally, send a screenshot of anything that appears in your console after you have refreshed the account and the error/issue loads on the screen. It should look something like this:
