An unclaimed JustGiving fundraiser is a live page that hasn’t yet been linked to a JustGiving account. When a supporter signs up and creates a JustGiving fundraiser via the GivePanel/JustGiving integration, the final step involves the supporter being invited to either log in to or sign up for a JustGiving account. This links the JustGiving fundraiser page to their JustGiving account, completing the setup.

Adding targeted emails for unclaimed JG fundraisers in your email journey ensures supporters can easily complete this process if they haven't done so already. Below is a step-by-step guide to setting up these emails.

Please note, unclaimed JG fundraising pages are still live JG fundraising pages that can receive donations.

Why Invite Supporters To Claim Their Page

More information in our help article here.

Setting Up Emails for Unclaimed Fundraisers

Providing you have the email tool enabled in your GivePanel account, you can add these emails into an email journey by:

Step 1: Add Emails to Your Email Journey

  1. Go to the Campaigns section in GivePanel.

  2. Open the email journey for your campaign.

  3. Select add new email

Step 2: Use the "JustGiving Claim Status" Trigger

  1. In the email trigger settings, select "JustGiving Claim Status".

  2. Choose "Not Claimed" as the condition. This ensures the email is only sent to supporters with unclaimed fundraisers.

Step 3: Customise Your Email Content

  1. Craft a clear and engaging email encouraging supporters to claim their fundraiser. Use a friendly tone and emphasise the benefits of claiming their fundraiser.

  2. Insert the claim link using the merge tag provided in the email builder. This ensures each supporter receives their unique claim link.

Step 4: Test Your Email Journey

Before activating the email journey, test it by:

  • Previewing the email with the merge tag to ensure the claim link is correct.

  • Sending a test email to confirm the content displays as expected.

Additional Notes

  • What happens if a supporter doesn’t claim their page? Their fundraiser remains live but inaccessible to them for updates.

  • Where can I find the merge tag for the claim link? The merge tag is available in the GivePanel email builder under "Merge Tags." Ensure you use the correct tag for the claim link.

  • Need more help? Contact GivePanel Support for assistance.
