The [FundraisersPageURL /] merge tag is a useful tool in GivePanel's email journeys. It automatically inserts a link to the fundraiser associated with (aka matched) to a registrant. However, there are some important considerations to ensure it works effectively.

How It Works

When the [FundraisersPageURL /] merge tag is included in an email, it attempts to populate with the fundraiser link of the matched registrant. If no fundraiser is matched to the registrant, the merge tag defaults to facebook.com/fundraisers.

Best Practices

To ensure the [FundraisersPageURL /] merge tag works as expected, we recommend:

  1. Using Conditions
Apply the conditions Matched Fundraiser or Claimed JustGiving Page to emails containing this merge tag. These conditions ensure the email is sent only to registrants who are matched to fundraisers with valid links ensuring the fundraiser link will always be inserted.

  2. Testing Email Journeys
Before sending a live campaign, test your email journey to confirm the merge tag populates correctly.
