Why Do I Need to Create a Consumer App?
As part of the JustGiving integration with GivePanel, all organisations setting up the integration for the first time (after Feb 2025) now need to create a Consumer App in their JustGiving Developer Account to allow for data imports into GivePanel.
New Customers setting up the JustGiving integration for the first time will create a Consumer App as part of the setup process.
Existing Customers who were previously integrated but now need to reintegrate (e.g., due to an integration error or a change in JustGiving admin credentials) will now also need to create a Consumer App before they can complete the reintegration process.
How to Create a Consumer App in JustGiving
To create a Consumer App, follow these steps:
Log in to your JustGiving Developer Account.
Navigate to Applications in the menu.
Click Create New Application.
Enter a name and description - we recommend calling it "GivePanel Consumer App".
Leave the dropdown and other fields blank.
Click Create Application to generate your Consumer App ID.
Once created, this Consumer App ID will need to be added to your JustGiving integration settings in GivePanel.
Next Steps
If you are setting up the integration for the first time, you can now proceed with connecting JustGiving to GivePanel using your Consumer App ID.
If you are reintegrating, make sure to add the Consumer App ID to your existing integration settings in GivePanel alongside your JustGiving admin credentials.
