Organic Facebook fundraisers are created directly through Facebook using Meta’s native fundraising tools, rather than through the GivePanel integration. Because of this, the data Facebook provides can be fragmented - making it difficult to track income and performance accurately.

By importing your Facebook transaction data into GivePanel, you can make sense of this information, connect donations to fundraiser records, and report on total income, performance, and impact.

How GivePanel reports organic fundraiser income

  • When an organic fundraiser receives their first donation and the facebook transaction data is imported into GivePanel the donations are linked to their fundraiser record.

  • If that fundraiser has been event attributed (e.g. with the ''birthday'' event), their income automatically appears in that campaign’s totals.

  • By default, all birthday fundraisers are automatically attributed to the Birthday Campaign in your account, ensuring this recurring source of income is always captured in reports.

Viewing organic fundraiser income in dashboards

Once imported and attributed, income from organic fundraisers appears in your Campaign Dashboard under key performance metrics, including:

  • Total Raised for the Event

  • Average Raised per Fundraiser

Exporting and reconciling data for reporting

For deeper analysis or reconciliation, use the Report Builder to:

  • Filter income by campaign, fundraiser type (e.g. organic)

  • Segment organic fundraiser income for finance or performance reports.

Facebook has recently added the PayPal Giving Fund Transaction ID to their transaction data export. When you import this data into GivePanel, it allows you to reconcile GivePanel income directly against your PayPal Giving Fund reports, providing an extra layer of accuracy when reviewing Meta donations.

Why importing matters

Facebook’s native reports often separate transactions, donors, and fundraiser details, making it hard to understand who’s fundraising and how much they’ve raised.

Importing your transaction data into GivePanel allows you to:

  • Consolidate fragmented data into complete fundraiser records.

  • Attribute income to the correct event or campaign.

  • Reconcile donation totals against PayPal Giving Fund data.

  • Report confidently on both integrated and organic fundraisers.

By combining your Facebook transaction data with GivePanel’s reporting tools, you can turn messy Meta data into clear, actionable insights for your team.
