Overview

When a supporter creates a JustGiving fundraiser through GivePanel, the banner image and description they see on their JustGiving Fundraising page will come from one of two places:

  • GivePanel

  • JustGiving

It depends on the type of GivePanel campaign and how it is connected to JustGiving.

There are three setups:

  1. DIY campaigns - image and description will always pull from what has been set in GivePanel.

Where to Set These in GivePanel

If wanting to set this in GivePanel, you’ll set the banner image and description here:

Campaign Builder → Section 3: Fundraiser

  • Fundraiser Image (becomes the JustGiving banner image)

  • Fundraiser Description (becomes the JustGiving page description)

How It Works

1. Virtual Event Campaigns (Event ID only)

  • GivePanel sends the Fundraiser Image and Fundraiser Description to JustGiving

  • Your JustGiving fundraising pages will use what you set in Section 3 of GivePanel

If you prefer to control this directly in JustGiving, you can add the Campaign shortname instead.

2. Virtual Event Campaigns (Event ID + Campaign Shortname)

  • JustGiving will use the image and description set in the JustGiving Campaign

  • If a description and image is set in GivePanel Section 3, it won’t be used on the JustGiving fundraising page (it will still be used on Facebook fundraisers)

A Campaign shortname tells JustGiving to take control of the page appearance.

3. DIY Campaigns

DIY campaigns do not connect to any JustGiving event or campaign.

  • JustGiving fundraiser pages created through the DIY journey will use the Fundraiser Image and Fundraiser Description set in Section 3 of GivePanel

  • If these are blank, JustGiving defaults are used

FAQs

What happens if I don't upload an image or description in GivePanel?
For Event ID only and DIY campaigns, JustGiving uses its default banner and description.

Will GivePanel overwrite my images in JustGiving?
Only when GivePanel is the source (Event ID only or DIY). If a Campaign shortname is present, GivePanel won’t overwrite anything.

How can I check whether my campaign is connected to an Event ID or Campaign shortname?
Go to Campaigns → Select Campaign → Page 1 and scroll to the JustGiving Event ID and Campaign Shortname fields.
