To ensure fundraising pages created through GivePanel Events are correctly structured inside JustGiving, your event must be linked using a JustGiving Event ID.
You can also optionally connect your event to a JustGiving Campaign using the Campaign Shortname. This allows fundraising pages to inherit campaign level branding and structure within JustGiving.
This article explains what each identifier does and how to configure them.
JustGiving Event ID (Required)
The JustGiving Event ID links fundraising pages to a specific event inside JustGiving.
This ensures:
Fundraising pages appear under the correct event
Event level reporting in JustGiving remains accurate
Pages are structured correctly from launch
How to Locate the Event ID
Create your event inside your JustGiving account.
The Event ID can usually be found within the event settings in JustGiving.
How to Add the Event ID in GivePanel
Go to:
Campaigns → Event Registration → Select your event.
On the Event Details page:
Enter the JustGiving Event ID
Click Save
All fundraising pages created through this event will now link to that JustGiving event.
JustGiving Campaign Shortname (Optional but Recommended)
If you want fundraising pages to be branded and grouped under a specific JustGiving campaign, you can add the Campaign Shortname.
Adding a Campaign Shortname allows you to:
Apply campaign level branding to fundraising pages (think this defaults from GivePanel now - double check)
Maintain consistent reporting within JustGiving
How to Locate the Campaign Shortname
You can find the Shortname in your JustGiving campaign URL.
The format is:
justgiving.com/campaign/[CampaignShortname]
For example:
justgiving.com/campaign/LondonMarathon2026
The Campaign Shortname would be:
LondonMarathon2026
How to Add the Campaign Shortname in GivePanel
Go to:
Campaigns → Event Registration → Select your event
On the Event Details page:
Enter the JustGiving Campaign Shortname
Click Save
New fundraising pages created through this event will now link to both:
The JustGiving Event
The JustGiving Campaign
Important: Campaign Permissions in JustGiving
To allow supporters to create fundraising pages associated with your JustGiving campaign, the appropriate permissions must be enabled inside your JustGiving campaign settings.
If these permissions are not enabled:
Fundraising pages may not link correctly to the campaign
Supporters may be unable to create fundraising pages via the integration
Campaign permissions are configured directly within your JustGiving account. For detailed instructions, refer to JustGiving’s guidance on campaign setup and permissions.
How This Works With Different Flows
Fundraiser Focussed Flow
Supporters authenticate with JustGiving first. The fundraising page is created and automatically linked to the configured Event ID and Campaign Shortname (if added).
Registration Focussed Flow
The fundraising page is created via API after registration and payment. The supporter is then prompted to claim it. The page is still linked to the configured Event ID and Campaign Shortname (if added).
Choosing between fundraiser and registration focussed flows.
Best Practice
For most charity led events, we recommend:
Adding a JustGiving Event ID
Adding a JustGiving Campaign Shortname
This ensures fundraising pages are correctly structured, branded and reported within JustGiving from day one.
