VAT & Pricing on Tickets

Understand how VAT is applied to tickets in GivePanel Events, including how to configure rates and manage pricing correctly

This guide explains how VAT works within GivePanel Events and how it applies to ticket pricing. VAT is configured per ticket within the Items section of your event.

Where to Set VAT

  1. Go to Campaigns > Event Registration

  2. Open your event

  3. Navigate to Items

  4. Create or edit a ticket

  5. Enable VAT Amount

You can then enter the VAT percentage (for example, 20%).

How VAT Works

When enabled:

  • The VAT percentage is displayed on the ticket

  • The VAT rate applies to that specific ticket type

  • VAT is calculated based on the ticket price

VAT is configured individually per ticket.

You can apply VAT to some ticket types and not others.

Example

If a ticket price is Β£50 and VAT is set to 20%:

  • The VAT amount will be calculated from the ticket price

  • The VAT rate will be displayed on the ticket

Important Considerations

  • VAT is applied at ticket level, not event level

  • VAT handling should be reviewed internally before launch

  • Stripe will process the total ticket amount charged

GivePanel Events does not determine whether VAT should be charged - this must be confirmed by your organisation.

Best Practice

  • Confirm VAT treatment with finance before setting ticket prices

  • Test a paid ticket before going live

  • Keep VAT settings consistent across similar ticket types
