Choosing Which Fundraising Page is Used for Totals and Emails

Understand how to choose which fundraising page GivePanel uses when a supporter has more than one.

Written by Harry Gardner

Why this matters

Each registration in GivePanel is designed to have one fundraising page matched to it. In some cases, a supporter may end up creating more than one page (for example, if they create a second page directly on JustGiving).

When this happens, GivePanel will only use one of those pages for:

  • Total amount raised

  • Email triggers (e.g. £10, £50 milestones)

This is known as the primary match.

When would you need to update this?

You might need to switch which page is being used if:

  • A supporter has created a second JustGiving page

  • Donations are going to a different page than expected

In most cases, the page with donations should be the one used.

How to choose the correct fundraising page

To switch which fundraising page is used:

  1. Open the fundraiser record for the page you want to use

  2. Click Find matches

  3. If needed, untick Exclude previously matched registrations

  4. Select the correct supporter registration

  5. Save the match

The last confirmed match will automatically become the primary match (the one used for totals and emails.)

Important to know

Only one fundraising page can be the primary match.

If more than one page is linked to a registration:

  • Only one page is used for totals

  • Only one page is used for email journey triggers

When will new pages appear in GivePanel?

If a supporter creates a fundraising page directly on JustGiving (outside of GivePanel):

  • It will usually appear in GivePanel after the next import

  • This happens the following day

Once it appears, you can follow the steps above to switch to the correct page.

Quick tip

If something doesn’t look right with emails, it’s often worth checking:

  • Does this supporter have more than one page linked?

  • Is the correct page being used?
