What Is a Unclaimed and Claimed JustGiving Fundraiser Page?
After a supporter creates a JustGiving fundraiser via the GivePanel / JustGiving integration, they are invited to sign in to or sign up for a JustGiving account. This process, known as claiming the fundraiser, links the JustGiving fundraising page to the supporter’s JustGiving account.
Claimed JustGiving Fundraisers: These are JustGiving fundraisers where the supporter completed the full journey. This enables the supporter to:
Receive email updates from JustGiving about donation activity.
Personalise their fundraiser through their JustGiving account.
Claimed pages will appear in the JustGiving data exported out of your JustGiving account.
Unclaimed JustGiving Fundraisers: Unclaimed pages are live fundraising pages that can still receive donations but they won’t appear in the JustGiving data exported from JustGiving until they receive their first donation. At that point, they will appear as anonymous "holding users" until they are claimed.
They cannot access their unclaimed fundraiser to edit it.
In GivePanel, unclaimed JustGiving fundraising pages won’t be anonymous as their information is captured during the registration process.
Can Supporters Claim Their JustGiving Fundraiser at a Later Date?
Yes, supporters can claim their JustGiving fundraiser at a later date. To help them do this, you can send them their JustGiving Claim URL.
Steps to Invite Supporters to Claim Their Page:
Use the GivePanel Email Tool:
You can create an email with the trigger condition set to "Unclaimed JustGiving Fundraisers." The email will automatically be sent to supporters who have created a fundraiser but have not yet claimed their page.
Manually Share the Claim Link:
Filter by "Claimed/Not Claimed" in the fundraiser section of your GivePanel account.
Locate the "JustGiving Claim URL" at the bottom of the fundraiser record.
Share the claim link directly with the supporter.
Export Unclaimed Pages Data:
In the "Reports" section of your GivePanel Account Settings, export JustGiving data.
The export includes key details like the "JustGiving Claim URL" and "JustGiving Fundraiser URL" to help manage outreach.
Why Focus on Unclaimed Pages?
Unclaimed fundraiser pages represent an opportunity to encourage supporters to take full ownership of their fundraisers by claiming their pages. While the fundraiser is live and can still receive donations, claiming the page allows for:
Improved Supporter Engagement: Supporters can personalise their pages.
Data Integrity: Claimed pages are fully linked to supporter JustGiving accounts in your charities JustGiving account, making it easier to align fundraiser records with your CRM if exporting the data out of JustGiving, please note, in GivePanel, you will have the fundraiser information regardless of the JustGiving fundraiser being claimed or not claimed.
