In GivePanel Events, you can insert dynamic fields (merge tags) into your emails.

These automatically pull in supporter specific information such as their name, fundraising link or team name to personalise the email.

This article explains what dynamic fields are, where to find them, and how to use them correctly.

What Are Dynamic Fields / Merge Tags?

Dynamic fields automatically insert supporter data into your email when it is sent.

Instead of writing “Hi Supporter” you can insert a dynamic field so the email reads ''Hi Sarah”. When the email is sent, GivePanel replaces the dynamic field with the correct information for each supporter.

You can use dynamic fields to insert:

  • Supporter first name

  • Supporter last name

  • Event name

  • Fundraising page URL

  • Team name

  • Fundraising target

  • Amount raised

  • Registration details

Where to Add Dynamic Fields

Dynamic fields (merge tags) are added inside the email editor.

Go to:

Event → Emails → Select the email you want to edit

Within the editor, place your cursor where you would like the personalised content to appear.

Open the Dynamic Fields dropdown (the little label icon with a + on it) and select the field you want to insert.

The field will appear in your email as a placeholder.

When the email is sent, it will automatically be replaced with the correct data.
