Customising Transaction Email Branding (GivePanel Events)

Learn how to customise the branding of your event transaction emails, including logos, colours, buttons and styling.

Written by Harry Gardner
Updated this week

The Branding section within the Emails tab of your GivePanel Event controls the design of your transaction emails, such as registration confirmations.

Please note: This does not apply to stewardship emails (Email Journeys), which are styled separately.

Where to Find Transaction Email Branding

Go to: Event → Emails → Branding

This section controls transaction email styling only.

Here you will see your Theme settings on the left, with a live preview of the branding on the right.

Any changes you make are reflected in real time in the preview panel.

How Branding Works Across Emails

The Branding tab controls the theme for the following transaction emails:

  • Registration Confirmation

  • Team Registration Confirmation

  • Team Invite Request

  • Confirm Secondary Registration

  • Claim JustGiving Fundraiser Request

When you update branding, the changes apply across all of these emails within the event.

What You Can Customise

Logo

Upload your charity logo to appear at the top of all emails. This reinforces brand recognition and ensures supporters immediately know who the email is from.

Best practice:

  • Use a high resolution PNG or JPG

  • Ensure there is clear spacing around the logo

  • Avoid very wide or overly tall images

Header Image

The header image appears below the logo at the top of your emails.

This is ideal for:

  • Event photography

  • Campaign visuals

  • Branded banners

Best practice:

  • Use a landscape image

  • Keep text within the centre of the image (avoid placing key text near edges)

  • Avoid small or overly busy designs

  • You can also add Alt Text to describe the image for accessibility.

Page Styling

This controls the overall email layout. You can customise:

  • Font

  • Page background colour

Choose clean, readable fonts and ensure sufficient contrast between background and text.

Body Styling

This controls the main content area of the email.

You can adjust:

  • Heading colour

  • Text colour

  • Link colour

  • Panel background colour

Tip:

Make sure text colour contrasts clearly with background colour for readability and accessibility.

Button Styling

Buttons are key action drivers in your emails (for example: “Complete your registration” or “View your fundraising page”).

You can customise:

  • Button background colour

  • Button text colour

  • Button border radius (square, rounded or pill)

Use a strong brand colour that stands out and is easy to see on both desktop and mobile.

Footer Styling

The footer contains compliance messaging and unsubscribe links.

You can customise:

  • Footer background colour

  • Footer text colour

  • Footer link colour

Ensure:

  • Unsubscribe links are clearly visible

  • Text remains readable

  • Colours meet accessibility contrast standards

Best Practice Checklist Before Going Live

Before opening your event:

  • Upload your logo

  • Add an event header image

  • Ensure button colours match your brand

  • Check text and background contrast
Review the preview on both desktop and mobile

  • Send a test email to confirm appearance in your inbox
