Setting up GivePanel Events for London Marathon 2027 (two day event)

Guidance on setting up GivePanel Events for London Marathon’s two day format.

Written by Harry Gardner

As the London Marathon is now a two day event, you’ll need to create two GivePanel Events to capture fundraising from both event days. Each London Marathon day has its own JustGiving Event ID, and each GivePanel Event can only be connected to one JustGiving Event ID.

Your setup should be:

GivePanel Event

JustGiving Event ID

JustGiving Campaign

London Marathon Saturday

Saturday JG Event ID: 9586753

Same JG Campaign

London Marathon Sunday

Sunday JG Event ID: 9536795

Same JG Campaign

Important: do not link your JustGiving Events to your JustGiving Campaign

When setting up your events in JustGiving, make sure you do not link either JustGiving Event to your JustGiving Campaign.

By leaving the events unlinked, fundraising pages created through both London Marathon Event IDs can still be connected to the same JustGiving Campaign.

This allows GivePanel to capture fundraising from both event days within the same campaign.

Setting up your GivePanel Events

To set up your London Marathon events:

  1. Create a GivePanel Event for your Saturday London Marathon Event ID.

  2. Create a second GivePanel Event for your Sunday London Marathon Event ID.

  3. Add the same JustGiving Campaign to both GivePanel Events.

Please note

You cannot create one GivePanel Event with two registration forms linked to different JustGiving Event IDs. Each GivePanel Event can only connect to one JustGiving Event ID, so you’ll need a separate GivePanel Event for each London Marathon day.
